SITA continues Binn Farm operator's licence application

SITA is continuing with its application for a PPC operators permit for an incinerator at Binn Farm, for which it received planning permission in December 2006. "As they do not have planning permission for the gasification plant it could be seen as a ‘fall back’ position in the event that they do not get the necessary planning permission for the gasification plant", stated SEPA officer Michelle Hickson.

Ms Hickson confirmed that the application for planning consent for a gasifier will have to go through the Pre-Application process, introduced under planning rules introduced in 2009. For further details of the Pre-Application process, click here.
