A reporter, Mr Olwyn Thomas, has now been allocated for Simon Howie's appeal against the refusal of planning permission for a waste pyrolysis plant at Carnbroe, on the border between Airdrie and Coatbridge. The DPEA has forwarded all the documentation to him for consideration and he will now decide how the appeal will be heard.
Maggie Proctor, spokesperson for MRAPP (Monklands Resident Against Pyrolysis Plant), urges residents who are concerned about potential pollution from the plant to write to the DPEA (Department of Environmental and Planning Appeals) to request a public inquiry.
