North Lanarkshire Council has now submitted details of its recent decision to refuse planning consent to Simon Howie to build a waste pyrolysis plant at Carnbroe. Click
here to see the decision in full (Word Doc). Four reasons are given, including:
"That it has not been adequately demonstrated that the proposed waste management facility would not be detrimental to human health, particularly of children and adults living near to the site"
The notice includes details of how Mr Howie can submit an appeal. The only way local campaigners will know he has appealed is by checking this link daily
http://www.dpea.scotland.gov.uk/ There is no mechanism in the Directorate for Planning and Environmental Appeals office for letting people know, other than a small public hearing notice in the local paper. Concerned residents are requested to keep an eye on this website.
